5/14/22 With a little time to spare on our last day in Eureka, we took a quick tour of the Sequoia Park Zoo.
The Sequoia Park Zoo is a small municipal zoo run by the city of Eureka. Like everything else on this trip, it exceeded expectations.
The Redwood Skywalk is a really well done nature walk through the Coastal Redwoods.
Some of the platforms are 100' off the ground. It must have been quite a construction project.
The suspension bridges were especially fun.
There was a cool little petting zoo.
And an aviary with some interesting birds.
I never knew that Flamingos get their color from their food. It's the same pigment that makes carrots orange!
Some fresh water otters.
And a Bald Eagle exhibit where the birds pose perfectly for the camera. Then it was time to head to the airport and back home. We could have easily spent twice…
