Cuyamaca Rancho State Park
Cuyamaca Rancho State Park has a nice lake and a number of great trails to some of the highest peaks in San Diego County.

A little Southeast of Cuyamaca, the Laguna Mountain Recreation area has some great singletrack through beautiful forest and meadows.
Palomar Mountain State Park
Like the Cuyamaca area, Palomar Mtn State Park was hit hard by fires but still has some great singletrack through forests and sprawling meadows.
