Another large wilderness area in Orange County. Great when it's green in the Spring, but you won't find too many exciting trails here. Good for up to 10 miles with around 2000' of gain.

10 Another trip to Caspers, this time with a friend on New Year's Eve 2014, the morning after an unusual Orange County snowstorm. The snow level was down to 2,000', the lowest I had ever seen it. The plan had actually been to do Sitton Peak, but Ortega Hwy was closed from snow and treefall. Though short-lived, all the snow on Santiago and the surrounding peaks was great to see.
