Sitton Peak

Somewhere between a local trail run and a low altitude mountain run, Sitton Peak is a great local destination. 10 miles round trip and about 2500' gain with nice single track and a great view at the top.
The trail starts at the Candy Store. The store is a life saver after a tough run!

The trail and terrain is varied enough to never get boring.

The Four Corners trail junction. Actually, it seemed like 5 or 6 trails all converged here. These makeshift trail signs are a bit cheesy but very effective!

The view from Sitton Peak is amazing. I was definitely surprised. Definitely one of the best ocean views in Orange County. And it was a particularly clear day, even San Clemente island was crystal clear (clearer in person than here in the picture). The last 1/2 mile to the peak is tough but well worth it.

As I headed back down, I passed my Dad somewhere above Four Corners. Here's his picture of me running off.

Saw some horses, but no mountain bikes. I'll take that tradeoff any day.
